This is 15 year old Thuy Le Viet. He has lost the use of his legs over the past three years, and has had to be carried. We gave him his wheelchair near Saigon, Vietnam in November '07

Over the past year, Park City Friends raised more than enough funds to send a container of wheelchairs (550 unassembled chairs) to Vietnam. Last November, we were able to travel and help assemble, and give these away these life changing, $48 wheelchairs.

Thank you for your donation, and your willingness to make a difference. We are nearly one fourth of the way towards our new 2008 goal of sending two containers of wheelchairs (1,100 lives changed for the good) somewhere in the world this year.

Each $48 wheelchair not only changes the lives of the individual recipients, but it greatly impacts the lives of their families, extended family as well as their communities.

We are now working with a microfinance entity to create a model program that would help newly mobile wheelchair recipients start on the path to self-sufficiency with a microenterprise. We would welcome your input, ideas or contacts.
